NFL fans are preparing for the Denver Broncos on August 15 opens preseason would be wise to check the NFL injury reports. Injury epidemic in the Denver boot camp will make for some unhappy Bronco fans.
Denver lost its top two tailbacks injury last week during practice when Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter had to leave the field within minutes of each other. However, these are not the only injury. Right Guard Chris Kuper offensive limped off with an ankle injury while outside linebacker Jarvis Moss broke a bone in his left hand.
"It's just a weird thing that happens," Champ Bailey, corner and leader of the team said. Kenny McKinley and Josh Barrett also lost for the season. On Friday of last week, a total of 13 players from Denver Bronco had lost at least one practice.
In addition, linebacker and special teams ace Darrell Reid tried to get up to speed after knee surgery off-season, while left tackle Ryan Clady was recovering from an injury that occurred in a basketball competition ball spring. Moss is expected to miss at least two weeks of practice time while Kuper injury is not as important, but will, however, cost him practice time.
Moreno is a costly loss to Denver as it is expected to lose a number of weeks after a muscle injury in an exercise 7-on-7. Denver hopes it will heal in time for the regular season. Buckhalter suffered a back injury and his status is still under study.
Linebacker Elvis Dumervil could miss the entire season begins inside linebacker DJ Williams was absent from the scope of practice because of shoulder and knee problems, which makes the defense of Denver even less of an asset. Moss was expected to replace Dumervil.
Denver plays in the AFC West is not the strongest division in the league. San Diego is the favorite again as it dominated the division in recent seasons, but the Chargers did not improve the off-season. Denver is still able to hit both heads and the Raiders, although the two teams do not look better.
If Denver can make the most of the situation by beating squads like St. Louis, Seattle, Arizona and San Francisco, they can challenge the Chargers the division title this season.
