What Are The Goji Berries and They Are The Same As Goji?

There is a wonderful little red fruit that grows in the world, and people in different places to call it by different names. Many people speak English called goji, and speakers today, even for the English days call Goji Berry. As we all know, science assigns two Latin botanical names for each body, a kind and species. Two plants that are even slightly different from each other species have different names. Thus, if two plants have the same genera and species names, they are from the same plant. The plant Goji berry / wolfberry, Lycium whose gender is, two closely related species. A species is known barbarum and the other is chinensis. Both species grow in many places on earth.

How people from different countries tend to speak different languages, it is not surprising that the Chinese people and Tibetans do not call these Goji berries. China has many dialects. The plant is often called g
ǒuqǐ and berries are called gǒuqǐzi (zi means "bay".) "Goji" is a simplified gǒuqǐ pronunciation.

Tibetan has many names for berries, including qouki, qor ji ki, quak qor, Kew and Kew ji ki. In Japanese, the plant is called kuko and the fruit is known as kuko in mid or Kuko not kajitsu.

By 1973, the word "Goji" began to be used for the first time in English, for English speakers could have a word for this bay which was similar to those Asian words. The point here is that Lycium Barbarum and Lycium chinensis are two completely different species, two completely different plants. Many people advertise different names for them. They claim, for example, that "Tibetan Lycium Barbarum Eleagnus" is the REAL Himalayan Gogi berry, even if not actually exist as a species.

There is no doubt that these two species have medicinal and nutritional properties because they are different species. In some mountainous regions of Tibet and North China are not what is commonly called the "Goji belt", a fertile high altitude region where the Goji plants are grown and in the wild. The "

The largest bays are "super", the second largest is "king", etc. You can find advertising buyers of fruit as the greatest, but they are still all the same berries, Lycium Barbarum.
