If you like French onion soup recipes, you can try this French recipe asparagus soup. Asparagus has a unique taste and the following recipe combines with onions, potatoes, chicken broth and spices, to a crockpot recipe and delicious soup. What you'll need:

    2 pounds fresh asparagus
    2 large potatoes
    5 cups chicken broth
    6 green onions
    A pinch of salt and black pepper
    
Sour cream and chopped fresh parsley, to garnish

How to do it:

Snap or cut the ends of the asparagus spears and cut into lengths of one inch. Chop green onions. Peel the potatoes and cut into half-inch cubes.

Place the broth, potatoes, asparagus and green onions in a slow cooker, cover and cook for about six hours on low or until potatoes are tender.

Puree the vegetables with a hand blender or transfer them in a blender or food processor with a little liquid, then put the purée in slow cooker.

Stir a little salt and pepper, put the lid and cook on high for about thirty minutes. Serve the soup of French asparagus decorated with cream swirl and a little parsley. Enjoy your meal!
